02How the age is calculated
Count whole years, then whole months, then the remaining days. If the target day of the month comes before the birth day, one month is borrowed and that month’s length is added to the days. Total days = target date − birth date (calendar days)
03Examples
Born 15 May 1990, on 2 October 2026: 36 years, 4 months and 17 days.
Born 29 February 2000: in years without 29 February, the next birthday is counted as 1 March.
Between 1 January 2026 and 1 January 2027 there are 365 days.
04Frequently asked questions
How are leap years handled?
Month lengths come from the real calendar, including 29 February in leap years. People born on 29 February have their birthday counted on 1 March in other years.
Does the time of birth matter?
No. The calculator works in whole calendar days and ignores time zones and time of day.
Can I measure the gap between any two dates?
Yes. Enter the earlier date as the date of birth and the later one as “Age on”.
