04Frequently asked questions

Can two generated UUIDs be the same?

In practice, no. With 122 random bits you would need to generate billions per second for many years before a collision became likely.

Are these UUIDs secure?

They come from crypto.randomUUID or crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographically secure generator. They are unique identifiers, not passwords or secret tokens.

Are UUIDs sent to a server or logged?

No. They are generated in your browser and never leave it.
